Jeremy is a dedicated coach with a wealth of experience in competitive wrestling and submission grappling. Boasting a career spanning over a decade working with children and youth in the United States and Canada, Jeremy is well-practiced in providing positive physical and mental development to young people.
Jeremy was born and raised in and around Chicago, Illinois, USA where he spent his life until relocating to Canada in 2018. He began his athletic career as a youth in 2006, when he joined the high school wrestling team and never looked back. After graduating he would go on to wrestle at the collegiate level, training under well-accomplished coaches at Triton College and later William Penn University. While wrestling for Triton College, Jeremy was a qualifier for the 2012 NJCAA National tournament, and at one point lead the nation in total pinfall victories. His journey continued at William Penn University where he was a 2x varsity letterwinner and recipient of a Coaches Award for dedication and leadership.
Jeremy's post-collegiate years saw him investing time and energy into younger generations. In addition to wrestling coaching, he would go on to lead programs in various fields such as general sports performance, recreation, and social-emotional development for children and youth. Towards this effort he holds certifications in High Five via Alberta Recreation & Parks Association, Mental Health First Aid, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. On the physical side, he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and is a certified Youth Exercise Specialist via the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Ascendancy Wrestling Academy is the culmination of all Jeremy's life experience, which combines his athletic and youth work backgrounds to create a program that does more than simply teach kids to wrestle. Jeremy strives to ensure that all children and youth who step onto AWA's mats leave with a unique and unforgettable experience; one that empowers youth to grow into their best selves, so that they can inspire others all the same.Â
Outside of wrestling, Jeremy spends his time with his loving family which consists of his wife, Amber, and their two beautiful children, Isaiah and Nyah. You can also occasionally find him competing in jiu-jitsu tournaments utilizing his base skillset, while representing Ascendancy Wrestling Academy and every person who trains in its space.
